Do I have to re-box my existing boxes?

This is not necessary; we can accommodate most archive box sizes. We prefer ongoing new archiving to be in our strong integral lid Anglian Archives box since this precisely fits our racking allowing us to maintain our competitive storage rate.

How many boxes will I need to pack my documents?

If your files are in filing cabinets then a good rule of thumb is that each drawer holds 2 archive boxes worth of files. So a four drawer cabinet will hold 8 boxes. Alternatively one foot of filing equates to one archive box.

How do I request a retrieval?

We accept retrieval requests, from approved personnel, by fax, e-mail or telephone. We ask you to provide your item description and our transaction number; this allows rapid retrieval of your item.

Can I go through our records on your premises?

Anglian Archives provides facilities for clients to search or work on their boxes. With prior arrangement; boxes, for you to examine, are retrieved ready for your arrival. Please bring a form of identification with you.

Can I restrict access to our archived documents?

We hold sensitive documents for clients, that they have designated as restricted access, with only named individuals allowed to request retrieval. We will then only deliver directly to those named individuals.

I have a self-store unit which is racked out and full of boxes, what will happen to the racking?

Our Anglian Archives personnel are used to dealing with a lot of situations and we have dismantled and disposed of un-wanted racking in a responsible manner, after removing all of the archive boxes, leaving the unit completely empty.

We have items which are not documents can you store them for us?

Yes, if the items can fit into an archive box then we are happy to store them. Naturally, we draw the line at any highly flammable or hazardous materials. We can accommodate other non-standard items such as drawing tubes and other oversize items.

Do you have a sprinkler system?

Anglian Archives have taken a conscious decision not to have sprinklers in our stores since water and documents do not generally mix. We have had a long standing policy of not having any sources of ignition in our stores. Long before the workplace smoking ban we had a no smoking policy.
